I was invited to talk at DWAY Sonshine Radio Cabanatuan last July 29, 2016, hosted by Mr. Jordan Ilustre, about the topic “NegosyongPatok,” in relation to SFF Income Solution Program.
One of the most common questions of the listeners was about selling.
Questions like, is it about selling?I do not like sales, how can I be successful in SFF?Another question was, “I have no sales experience and medical background, and how can I explain the products?”
Now, if you are following my blogs, you would have noticed that I did not mention about selling, but rather we prefer to say sharing. To properly put things into right perspective, I chose sharing over selling to cancel out the idea of “Hype” and Pressure selling.” This selling activity is commonly done to stimulate impulse buying; and people who were persuaded to buy some products because of the glamorous promises of the salesman, were regretful later as they realized they did not need the products.
On the other hand, sharing has different connotation. It is understood by many as telling your own story to others. Sharing is about the personal experiences of the benefits and the value made by a product to the consumer.
I know some of you may argue that selling and sharing is one and the same. Yes I agree, but only up to the extent that in selling and sharing, in order to be effective, you should have credibility. To have credibility you need to be a user of the product and have experienced the benefits. To sell products without personally experiencing the effects of its benefits is called “Hyping!” On the other hand, if you share the products and experience it yourself, we call it “Sharing.”
There are some people who act as if Selling is a negative word. “AyawkongBentaBenta. Dikohiligyan!” Or “Dikolinyayan!”
Selling is not a negative word. In order to become successful in SFF, you need to learn the skills of selling. If you cannot sell Spirulina Filipina, you can’t also convince people to join you, right?
In any sales Industry, whether insurance, selling tangible items and real estate, we have this saying, “People buy People.” They do not buy the products, they buy YOU.
Hence, you must at least learn how to sell yourself.
You must be able to communicate the value of the products to influence others to buy.
Selling or sharing is part of our daily lives.
If you have kids, you are doing selling. You must get your kids to listen to you and do what you want them to do. You sell to them your advices and sell to them your experiences. Imagine if you just impose fear and authority to make your children follow you;as soon as they grow up, they will get taller and bigger than you are, they will no longer be afraid of you.
If you have a job of any kind, you are in sales. You convinced someone to hire you. When you submitted your resume or bio data, that paper is your “selling proposition of yourself.”
Thus, selling or sharing is the most important skill you need to learn in Spirulina Filipina Foundation. Selling our products, for example SpirulinaFilipina is not difficult: you just need to transfer your excitement about the products to others.
In the Philippines, selling Spirulina Filipina is not difficult. It is already a well-known product. All you need to do is to improve your selling and people skills.
To sum up, it’s more of getting other people to accept your ideas and to see things from your perspective. If you can learn that skill, you have greater advantage to become successful in Spirulina Filipina Foundation.
Remember: Make sure that you are telling your stories or others are telling your stories and their stories every single day.
Be proud of what you do. Get better every single day.
Enjoy the process!
